
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — A man was shot and killed by police Friday after allegedly pointing a gun at a store clerk and confronting officers.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said the incident began around 2:49 p.m. when 24-year-old Paul Beasley Jr. entered a business at 8301 State Ave. and aimed a firearm at the cashier. He reportedly told the clerk to call 911 and say the store was being robbed.

A Kansas City, Kansas police officer entered moments later, saw Beasley holding a gun, and backed out of the store. Beasley followed the officer outside, where multiple officers were gathered. Five officers fired during the confrontation, hitting Beasley.
Officers gave first aid until EMS arrived. Beasley was taken to a hospital, where he died. No officers were injured.
The KBI is leading the investigation, which will be turned over to the Wyandotte County District Attorney when complete.
