
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A state trooper is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car on I-26 early Sunday morning.
Investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) said the crash occurred around 2 a.m. at mile marker 166.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office requested that the LCSD investigate the crash, according to Captain Adam Myrick.
Deputies arrested Anthony Aydlette, of Hanhan, in connection to the crash. The 45-year-old was charged with driving with a suspended license.
Aydlette, officials said, is being held at the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
