A North Dakota man drowned while boating in northern Minnesota Saturday evening.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says it was called to Cass Lake at 5:50 p.m. after the 41-year-old entered the water and didn't resurface.
Responders were told the man "exited a pontoon into Cass Lake to work on a boat motor problem and didn’t resurface."
Children on the boat tried to throw a life jacket into the water, and the pontoon then began to drift in high winds.
The boat was intercepted by other boaters, who then called 911.
The man's body was found at around 7:50 p.m. The sheriff's office says he wasn't wearing a life jacket.
His identity is expected to be released in the coming days.
