It's about to be hot in Burlington.
The National Weather Service Burlington has issued a heat advisory for portions of the St. Lawrence and northern Champlain Valley from 8 a.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Wednesday, including Burlington.
Temperatures are expected to reach 96 degrees on Monday, 96 again on Tuesday, 91 on Wednesday and then drop back down into the 80s, according to the AccuWeather forecast. The NWS forecast differs slightly from AccuWeather's and believes Tuesday will be the hottest day.
"There will be little relief Tuesday night with low temperatures only cooling to about 70 degrees," NWS wrote. "Heat impacts are cumulative, and those without access to adequate cooling will be most at risk to developing heat related illnesses."
