2025 Genesis G80 updates keep it competitive, but its chief rival has a cheaper lease
Even more so than its chief Asian rival, the Lexus ES, the Genesis G80 is a mid-size luxury sedan that truly makes its case as a genuine mid-size luxury sedan. While the Lexus ES is hindered by its bizarre, kabuki-mask-like face and adequate interior design, the Genesis G80's design exudes an aura of being far more expensive – did someone say Bentley? And unlike the ES's attempt at offering a weak F-Sport sports sedan variant, the G80 knows its place as a dedicated comfy cruiser, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Offered in Base, 2.5T AWD, 2.5T Advanced AWD, 2.5T Sport Prestige AWD, 3.5T Advanced AWD, and 3.5T Sport Prestige AWD trim, all G80s get a nip and tuck to their front rear design, as well as a redesigned instrument panel and center console that features a 27-inch OLED instrument cluster and infotainment display. While you can get the G80 with a 375-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6, the greatest number of trim levels are powered by a 300-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard on all models.
The 2025 Genesis G80 lease deal, August 2025
You can lease a 2025 G80 2.5T AWD for $589 per month for 36 months and 30,000 miles with $4,999 due at lease signing. Prefer the 2.5T Advanced AWD, which offers more standard features? That will cost $689 per month with a down payment of $4,999 for the same term. Go for the 2.5T Sport Prestige AWD, and it will cost $749 monthly with the same terms. If you'd rather have your G80 with a V6, the 3.5T Advanced AWD is only a slight premium, available for $799 every 30 days, while the top-of-the-line 3.5T Sport Prestige AWD costs $949 a month with the same down payment and terms. Prefer no money down? The 2.5T AWD will cost approximately $712 a month, the 2.5T Advanced AWD will cost around $809 a month, and the 2.5T Sport Prestige AWD will cost $867. For V6 aficionados, the 3.5T Advanced AWD will cost $916 a month, and the 3.5T Sport Prestige AWD, $1,062 a month. Any dealer contribution will affect the final price, which includes a $750 acquisition fee.

Additionally, all lessees can take advantage of a $1,000 Signature Event Bonus to apply towards their lease. Active-duty personnel, reservists, National Guard members, Veterans, or retired U.S. Military Personnel are eligible for a $500 bonus toward a lease, while recent or upcoming college graduates are eligible for a $400 bonus. No security deposit is required. Figures do not include tax, title, license, registration, documentation fees, options, insurance or other fees. The disposition fee is $400 for most states. This lease offer ends September 2, 2025.

Keep in mind that, when leasing, consider the monthly payment cost, taxes, and fees before signing. Lease offers vary by metro market. Check your local pricing here: https://www.genesis.com/us/en/offers#/model=g80/offerType=lease
Final thoughts
Indeed, the Genesis G80 is a superb luxury sedan, and its update should keep it competitive against its chief rival, the Lexus ES, which receives a total redesign for 2026. And while we admire the Genesis G80 for an appearance that truly says luxury in a way the Lexus ES does not, the outgoing 2025 Lexus ES does have a lease that undercuts Genesis, if you can stand the Lexus ES’ kabuki-mask front end appearance. The refinement of the Genesis G80’s appearance and its generous size make it worth the extra scratch.
