Thousands of unsold Corvette Z06s have prompted dealers to slash prices by up to $12,000 amid softening demand.
The high-performance Chevrolet Corvette Z06, once a near-impossible find for buyers, is now becoming more readily available—and significantly more affordable. A surge in unsold inventory has triggered a wave of steep discounts at U.S. dealerships.
General Motors’ online inventory tracker shows approximately 1,702 Z06s sitting on dealer lots nationwide, eclipsing other C8 Corvette models in availability. The Stingray ranks second with around 1,100 units, followed by the all-electric E-Ray with fewer than 900 examples.
As build allocations open up and production continues, dealers are taking aggressive steps to clear lots. Many Z06s are now listed at or below the original Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), with some trim levels discounted by as much as $12,000. For instance, a Riptide Blue 1LZ coupe once stickered at $119,775 is now offered at $107,464.
Industry watchers suggest several factors behind the softening market. First, dealer markups have discouraged buyers waiting for post-launch price relief. Second, these inventory Z06s—2024 and 2025 models—lack the new interior upgrades arriving in the 2026 refresh, including larger screens and revamped controls. Finally, attention is shifting to the new ZR1 and ZR1X variants, which deliver over 1,000 horsepower and eclipse the Z06’s performance, drawing interest away.
The Z06 remains a performance bargain even after rebates: boasting a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 and capable of rivaling supercar performance, it's still priced well below European alternatives like the Porsche 911 GT3, which begins above $200,000.
For Corvette enthusiasts seeking value, the current environment may represent a rare opportunity. With extra inventory and major markdowns, the Z06 may be more accessible than ever.
