Station wagons offer the best of all worlds. They have the handling dynamics of low-slung sedans, but the space and practicality of SUVs. Wagons are a dying breed in the United States, making up only a tiny percentage of new-car sales here. But there are still a handful of great options for those who want to keep the dream alive, and some are even offered on our shores in their most desirable performance versions. These are the best wagons on sale today, listed in order of least to most expensive.

2025 Subaru Outback
Base price: $31,415
There's a reason a huge percentage of all wagons sold in the U.S. are Subaru Outbacks. The Outback has a strong reputation for doing many things well, combining wagon practicality with the rugged looks of an SUV. Its crossover-esque looks and extra ride height means it can appeal to segments outside its own, especially with its affordable starting price. A new Outback is coming for 2026, but it looks decidedly less wagon-like than before.

2025 Volvo V60 Cross Country
Price: $51,495
Volvo sadly stopped selling the plug-in hybrid Polestar Engineered performance version of the V60 wagon in the U.S., but the Cross Country version is still around. It's a stylish, slightly lifted wagon with a plush interior, and it comes standard with a 247-hp turbo four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt hybrid system.

2025 Volvo V90 Cross Country

If the V60 isn't big or practical enough for you, there's also the Volvo V90 Cross Country. It has a larger, more luxurious cabin, plus body cladding and additional ground clearance for the occasional off-road jaunt. It's also a bit more powerful, as it comes with the 295-hp B6 four-cylinder powertrain.

2025 Audi A6 Allroad
Base price: $71,795
Audi has sold the Allroad version of its A6 Avant wagon on and off in the U.S., and the latest generation may be nearing the end of its time since there's a new A6 arriving soon. We're hoping Audi continues to bring over the wagon version with the new generation, but act fast if you want to get your hands on one of the final copies of the outgoing Allroad in the U.S. It's a delightfully refined package with a smooth V-6 engine, an adjustable air suspension, and a plush interior.

2025 Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain
Base price: $77,250
The E-class wagon is a mainstay in the luxury world, and Mercedes persists in selling it in the U.S. even though the sedan is the far more popular choice. It's an "if you know, you know" kind of car, and the latest version is the All-Terrain, which comes in six-cylinder E 450 guise. In the same vein as Audi's Allroad models, the All-Terrain package includes a bit of extra cladding and ground clearance, but the E-class is still a traditional wagon through and through.

2025 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo
Base price: $113,095
Need a little more ground clearance from your electric wagon? Porsche has the car for you: the Taycan Cross Turismo. Essentially Porsche's take on the Subaru Outback body style, it gives the Taycan a taller ride and plastic body cladding, along with standard AWD. A Cayenne is better for real off-roading, but this more practical version of the Taycan can work for those willing to hit a dirt or gravel trail every now and then.

Base price: $120,000 (est)
We may look back fondly on the days of the V-8–powered AMG E 63 wagon that was sold in the U.S. until recently, but there's a new hot wagon set to arrive soon that's the next best thing. The AMG E 53 is headed to our shores with its 600-plus-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain. That should tide us over just fine until the next E 63 appears at some point in the near future.

2025 BMW M5 Touring
Base price: $125,275
BMW isn't known for its wagons like Volvo is, but that doesn't make the new Touring version of the latest M5 any less enticing. It's a 717-horsepower plug-in hybrid performance wagon, for goodness sakes. And so far, demand for the wagon is far exceeding expectations.

2025 Audi RS6 Avant
Price: $127,895
The Audi RS6 Avant packs 621 hp and Audi's signature Quattro all-wheel-drive system in a big, comfy wagon body style. And unlike previous iterations, it's actually for sale in America. And it's wonderful to drive.

2025 Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo
Price: $137,450
Porsche no longer sells a wagon version of the Panamera, but the Taycan electric car still has a longroof variant. The sportiest version is dubbed the Sport Turismo, which comes only in GTS form. It has more trunk space than the sedan but is otherwise the same, with a whopping 690 horsepower from its dual electric motors.
