A Naples man who authorities captured nearly 2,000 miles away three months after the slaying of a woman will remain in custody without bond until his trial.

Antonio Licout, 19, is accused in the April 10 shooting of 18-year-old Aaliyah Gonzalez. Licout faces one count of second-degree murder.

Early April 10, Collier County sheriff's deputies responded to NCH Baker Hospital, 350 Seventh Street N., in Naples, after Gonzalez was brought in with a gunshot wound to the back of her head.

Witnesses told authorities Gonzalez was inside a car when Licout shot at them. The witnesses were unable to provide the exact address where the shooting happened, but agreed to show authorities.

Naples Police officers who accompanied the witnesses discovered several shell casings in the area of Airport Pulling Road North, just south of Ponce De Leon Drive.

Officers then contacted the sheriff's office as the shooting happened outside their jurisdiction, reports say.

Authorities examined the car witnesses brought Gonzalez in — a white Lexus. They reported the car had two bullet holes as well as suspected blood.

The driver of the Lexus, as well as the front-seat passenger, told authorities he did not know the shooter but heard two of the occupants say "Antonio."

A third witness identified Licout and told authorities that Licout and Gonzalez argued prior to the shooting before Licout pushed Gonzalez.

According to the sheriff's office, Licout then walked away from the area carrying two backpacks.

As the witnesses and the victim left in the Lexus, they saw Licout on the side of the road. As they drove past, Licout made eye contact with the witnesses, retrieved a firearm from his backpack, and shot at them.

Licout remained a fugitive until his July 11 arrest in Colorado.

During a July 25 pretrial detention hearing, Collier Circuit Judge John McGowan ruled that Licout remain in custody without bond until his trial.

Licout's arraignment is Aug. 11.
