The R1S Quad Pebble Beach may look like any other version of the EV from a distance, but closer inspection reveals just how special it is. Its exclusive design, both inside and out, was inspired by the Monterey Bay area. This includes the vehicle’s finish, Monterey Silver, a hue inspired by the early morning light in the region. The color was also applied by hand in a special four-part process. The SUV also features brake calipers finished in Laguna Beach Blue brake calipers. This subtle shade can also be found on the badging. Rounding out the exterior details are 22-inch wheels that feature an exclusive three-tone finish.
The vehicle’s interior, meanwhile, was designed to serve as a coastal retreat. The seats are covered in Pebble Stone-inspired Adventex upholstery, while the trim is made from textured wood and cork-blended textiles. The acoustic speaker grilles and floor mats also feature a unique gradient finish inspired by the way the sun fades into the Pacific at twilight.
While the R1S Quad Pebble Beach’s exterior and interior have been given the bespoke treatment, its hardware has been left untouched. It’s easy to see why. The battery-powered SUV is powered by the company’s most potent powertrain yet, a quad-motor setup that produces an incredible 1,025 hp and 1,198 ft lbs of torque. Thanks to all that oomph, the vehicle can rocket from in just 2.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 130 mph. There is no information on what kind of battery the one-off comes with, but Rivian has previously quoted a range of up to 374 miles for the standard version of the EV.
Intrigued? The R1S Quad Pebble Beach will be auctioned off by Broad Arrow at the Monterey Jet Center on Wednesday evening. The auction house expects the winning bid to come in north of $130,000. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to #TeamWater, a crowdfunding campaign that aims to improve access to clean water globally.
