Limited Number Of Sports Sedans Get Custom Touches

Many luxury brands now offer personalization programs that help customers make their cars more special while also padding bottom lines. Cadillac is the latest to follow this trend, and it's using the bespoke Celestiq electric sedan as inspiration.

Launching with a limited number of 2026 CT5-V Blackwing sports sedans, Curated by Cadillac will offer "distinct vehicle colors, premium materials, and refined finishes," according to a Cadillac press release. The automaker believes it's now in a position to offer those options thanks to the Celestiq, a hand-built electric land yacht that offers levels of personalization normally associated with the likes of Rolls-Royce, not General Motors' luxury brand.

More Options For Personalization

Curated by Cadillac will offer more than 160 paint colors, as well as an "expanded selection" of interior colors and materials that will allow for millions of potential combinations, according to the automaker. And like customers ordering a Celestiq, Curated by Cadillac customers will also have access to a concierge with a design background to advise them as they choose between this array of options.

Cadillac hasn't said exactly how many 2026 CT5-V Blackwings will get the Curated by Cadillac treatment, but claims there will be "extremely limited availability." The cars will be prepped at the same Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan, that handles Celestiq assembly. Located on GM's Tech Center research and development campus, it previously assembled one-off prototypes and show cars.

Curated by Cadillac cars have the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 as the standard Blackwing, producing 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque and available with six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmissions. The price is $158,000 with destination—a substantial $83,295 increase over the standard CT5-V Blackwing.

Previous V-Series Limited Editions

The gas-guzzling, tire-shredding CT5-V Blackwing and the silent, luxurious Celestiq are about as different as two sedans can be. But a precedent already exists for personalized V-Series models, so it makes sense that the CT5-V Blackwing would be the first model in the Curated by Cadillac program.

When the CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing launched, Cadillac designated the first 250 units as "Collectors' Series" models. It then launched more limited editions to commemorate its 120th anniversary, letting customers pick a particular year to commemorate with their builds. And for the 2024 model year, Cadillac offered 21 customers the option to personalize CT5-V Blackwings in much the same way it's doing now, even employing the Artisan Center to build the cars.
