Ford has recalled more than 103,000 F-150 pickup trucks due to a serious crash risk.

Ford Motors has issued another recall this summer, but this time it affects a popular model of pickup trucks.

The carmaker recalled 103,174 F-150 vehicles with faulty hardware that can cause a rollaway or crash risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Here’s everything you should know about the latest Ford recall. For the latest recall information, you can check out NJ.com’s recall hub.

What Ford models are affected and why are they being recalled?

Ford 2023-2025 F-150 pickup trucks are involved in the most recent recall.

The rear axle hub bolt can break, damaging the axle hub splines. This damage can cause the car to roll away while it’s parked without the parking brake engaged or lose drive power.

These two incidents can lead to a serious crash risk.

The current recall is linked to a previous recall from January 2024 with the same safety hazard on 112,965 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles.

What should owners do, if they have one of these recalled Ford models?

The NHTSA urges owners of the recalled F-150s to bring them to their dealer to replace the left and right rear axle shaft assemblies for free.

They are also expected to receive notification letters between Aug. 18, 2025 and May 22, 2026.

Owners can call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, if they have more questions. The recall number is 25S82.

Have there been other Ford recalls this year?

The current Ford recall follows two others announced this summer.

One from July included 2021-2022 F-150 trucks as well as Broncos, Expeditions, Explorers, F-250 SDs, F-350 SDs, F-450 SDs, F-550 SDs, Mustangs, Lincoln Aviators and Lincoln Navigators.

The entire list has low-pressure fuel pumps that may fail, causing the engine to stall and lead to a crash risk.

Meanwhile, a previous recall announced in June involved more than 300,000 Mach-E all-electric SUVs.

They have a battery defect that, according to the NHTSA, can cause passengers to be locked and trapped inside the vehicles.
