Infiniti announced a sport grade for its QX80 earlier this month, but that's not the most interesting variant of the full-sized SUV the brand is showing off this August. Two different QX80 concepts were revealed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on Friday, and both of the concepts present visions of very compelling possible futures for the brand's three-row flagship.
The QX80 Track Spec is a concept designed for on-road and track performance, complete with turbocharger and exhaust system changes that bring output up to more than 650 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque. Infiniti says that this was accomplished with stock internals and bolt-on parts alone, showcasing what QX80 owners could theoretically do to their own SUVs.
Visual changes for the QX80 Track Spec include flared fenders, quad-exit exhausts, new vents, and the exclusive grille from the recently-revealed QX80 Sport. 24-inch wheels, a dark blue matte vinyl wrap, and quad exhausts complete a particularly aggressive road truck look that is reminiscent of Nissan's newly-announced and closely-related Armada Nismo.

The QX80 Terrain Spec is a more trail-ready concept, one that Infiniti says "interprets today's overlanding fashions for a luxurious experience." In practice, that means a sizable lift kit, chunky all-terrain tires, and beefy fender flares. The well-accessorized truck also picks up a pop-up roof tent, a light bar, and protective covers over the lower parts of the car's enormous front and rear fascias.

While these two concepts offer up a compelling look at what the QX80 could be, both look more like inspiration for customization than they do future consumer products. Nissan did just announce plans to sell a Nismo version of the Armada in America, though, so there is some hope that something like these concepts could eventually reach customers. Until then, all we can do is appreciate the charm of a massive three-row luxury SUV with a light bar and a roof tent.
