EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 44-year-old man was arrested earlier this month in Horizon after a traffic stop led to a warrant check, according to the Horizon Police Department.
Police say just before 12 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, a traffic stop was conducted at the 14600 block of Horizon Boulevard for an equipment violation.
Officers conducted a warrant check for Roberto Carlos Herrera Bustamante, 44, who had an outstanding warrant for juvenile failure to appear, police say.
Police say in Texas, if a juvenile doesn’t appear in court or follow a court order, they can be charged with a Class C misdemeanor, have a warrant issued for their arrest, and risk losing or being denied a driver’s license.
A parent or guardian can also face the same consequences if the juvenile fails to appear or comply.
Herrera Bustamante was transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was booked for the outstanding warrant with a bond set at $750.
