A C5 Corvette driver ate it big time while trying to show off as he left a car meet, and we have the embarrassing video. Some people are joking the guy wrecked because he wasn’t wearing New Balance shoes, but we think something even dumber is going on.
Woman laughs in her mugshot after vandalizing ex-boyfriend’s car.
Obviously, the guy behind the wheel of the C5 Corvette doesn’t know how to drive a higher-powered, rear-wheel-drive/front-engine sports car. He probably used to be part of the Honda Civic tuner crowd, judging by the crappy modifications he made to the Chevrolet.
The worst of them are the wheels, which fortunately probably were damaged in this single-vehicle wreck.
You can see in the video the guy turns left out of a parking lot where the meet was being held. He of course juices it and gets some rotation. Like an idiot, he doesn’t get as much as he thought he would, so he’s on the left side of the road, driving towards oncoming traffic.
Perhaps that’s why he jerks the steering wheel to the right, while also lifting off the throttle. The weight transfer by lifting, combined with the sudden rotation of the Corvette, is enough to send it into a spin to the left.
He then wrecks into the curb hard, sending the Chevy into the air briefly before it slumps down and the driver looks embarrassed. Unsurprisingly, he looks like a young guy, although we don’t know if he’s actually a little older.
If how that crash happened confuses you, please stick to your Toyota Camry or Kia Sorento. This is something anyone who drives a rear-wheel-drive car should understand or they risk doing exactly what this guy did.
The other takeaway from this little incident is that showing off while leaving car meets is dumb. Not only could you get busted by the cops and get future meets shut down, you can crash your car, costing you a lot of money and maybe even hurting or killing someone in the process. It’s just not worth it.
