India's Mahindra Automotive reveals BE 6 Batman Edition EV, featuring quite a few interior and exterior nods to the fictional character.
The compact, four-door electric crossover is powered by a 79-kWh battery.
Just 300 units will be produced, with order books (in India) set to open later this week.
If you want a Batman-themed EV, you must move to a country where you can just import whatever you want. That country is not the US, so even if you want something like a 2025 Volkswagen Polo, there's a 25-year waiting period to get one.
It's kind of like a waiting period in some states to buy a firearm, but it's a lot longer than 30 days and it's in every state, and it's for a car.
You can also move to India, because that's where this EV hails from.
The Mahindra Group, whose automotive division is perhaps best known in the US for that amusing Jeep lookalike lawsuit, has just revealed the BE 6 Batman Edition as a limited version of its Electric Origin SUV.
But just which version of Batman is this car paying tribute to: the live-action series from the 1960s, Michael Keaton's Batman, or the brooding and dark Christopher Nolan trilogy?
It is in fact the Christopher Nolan version that, among other things, gave us and continues to give us so many great Bane memes.
Dark Knight Trilogy Boost Button
"Batman is more than a pop-culture icon. He represents innovation, resilience, and an unyielding drive to push boundaries," says Vikram Sharma, Senior Vice President, Warner Bros, Discovery Global Consumer Products, APAC.
"This collaboration brings that spirit to the road in a bold, electric way."
Powered by a 79-kWh battery, the BE 6 features R20 alloy wheels, a Custom Satin Black exterior color, and decals on the front doors. The suspension and brake calipers, meanwhile, are finished in the Alchemy Gold color.

The Bat emblem makes numerous appearances throughout, as one would expect, including on the windows, rear glass, front quarter panels, and the rear bumper.
The interior goes heavy on the The Dark Knight Trilogy emblems as well, including the seats and the Boost button (for a crime-fighting burst of power), while the suede and leather upholstery features gold sepia accent stitching.
The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem is applied to the leather upholstery as well.
Batman-Inspired Exterior Engine Sounds
In fact, it sounds like the designers couldn't leave an empty spot inside without The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem.
But the Batman theme goes beyond the exterior and the interior. The EV even makes what the automaker calls "Batman-inspired exterior engine sounds."
"The BE 6 has always been about boldness and forward thinking," said Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer-Auto & Farm Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
"With the Batman Edition, we wanted to go further—to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history."
If Christopher Nolan arrives at a red carpet premiere in a vehicle other than the BE 6 Batman Edition later this year, let's just say we'll be dismayed and disappointed. But we'll understand because of the whole importation process red tape.
We'll give him another chance to make things right around Oscar season in 2026.
Batman Is Big in India
Here's a sad realization: India can have an official Nolan trilogy Batman-themed EV in the year 2025—but America cannot.
It seems we can't have nice things a majority of the time, if not all the time.
Where are US automakers when we need them?

The fact is, Batman is big in India. Anand Singh, Senior Director of Consumer Products at Warner Bros. Discovery South Asia, confirms this much.
"India has one of the most passionate fan bases for Batman anywhere in the world, and this partnership brings that passion to life in a way never seen before."
And it's a country of 1.45 billion people.

So when these two facts collide, product synergies like this can happen very quickly.
Just 300 units will be produced, with order books opening later this week. The sticker price translates to about $32,000. That's more than twice the average price for a car in India.
We suspect there could be equal demand for a Bane-themed car, with a front fascia that resembles his mask.

And it needs some kind of voice modification feature where you talk into a microphone and you sounds like Bane via the car's exterior intercom.
Such a limited edition could see even more demand than this Batman-themed EV, we suspect. At least here in the US.
