Road rage is a serious issue everywhere these days and no group is immune, including those who drive Teslas. That’s made quite clear by a road rage fight between two Tesla drivers which turned into a shooting and manhunt.

The incident, of course, happened in California, more specifically the East Bay area. With so many in the Golden State driving Elon’s electric cars, it was only a matter of time before they turned on each other.
According to a report from KTVU, the fight happened August 12 on eastbound Highway 84 west of Interstate 880 at about 5:30 pm. It’s not clear what started the exchange, but at one point one of the Tesla drivers pulled in front of the other, then stepped on the brakes, forcing both vehicles to stop.
The man who stopped suddenly got out of his vehicle and walked toward the other’s EV. The second driver threw something to make the other man stop advancing, but he didn’t, and that’s when the second driver opened fire.
Fortunately, the first driver was only hit in the arm and not the chest. He took his Tesla to a hospital in Fremont and sought treatment in the emergency room.
The shooter took off and police descended on the area but were unable to find the other car. Considering the guy was in a Tesla in California, he was probably able to blend into the sea of others on the road there.
Road rage is a bad idea because you never know what the other person is capable of doing, like shooting you. When these incidents tend to turn especially violent is when people stop and get out of their cars, confronting each other face to face.
Avoiding road rage is a good strategy, but if you do find yourself flipping out at another driver, it’s a good idea to not get out of your car and try going hands-on with them.
