Upgrades on the BE 6 Batman Edition include bat emblems on the roof, doors and hubcaps.

Indian automaker Mahindra created a Batmobile for the electric vehicle era, but the limited-edition SUV will be available only to 300 caped commuters.

The BE 6 Batman Edition, priced at the equivalent of about $32,000, was developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. and inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.

The vehicle is painted a custom Satin Black with Batman decals on the doors and Alchemy Gold suspension and brake calipers. It has bat emblems on its hubcaps, front quarter panels, rear bumper, windows and “infinity roof,” in addition to projecting bat symbols onto the ground beside it when parked.

The theme is just as immersive inside, where the dashboard features a numbered Batman Edition gold plaque and a charcoal leather instrument panel with a “brushed gold halo,” Mahindra said. The driver holds a gold-accented steering wheel while sitting on suede and leather upholstery with gold sepia accent stitching. More bat emblems decorate the seats, interior labels, the dashboard and the “Boost” button that gives a burst of additional horsepower.

To complete the concept, the engine has a custom Batman-inspired sound.

“The BE 6 has always been about boldness and forward thinking,” Pratap Bose, chief design and creative officer for Mahindra’s auto and farm sectors, said in a statement. “With the Batman Edition, we wanted to go further — to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history. We’ve obsessed over even the smallest detail, so that every time you look at it, you discover something new.”

Mahindra is targeting the special edition at what it described as a particularly passionate Batman fanbase in India. It said orders will open Aug. 23 and that deliveries are to begin Sept. 20, which is — apparently — International Batman Day.

“Batman is more than a pop-culture icon — he represents innovation, resilience, and an unyielding drive to push boundaries," said Vikram Sharma, senior vice president for Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. “This collaboration brings that spirit to the road in a bold, electric way. With this limited-edition range, fans in India can now experience the thrill of Batman every time they drive. It’s a collector’s statement on wheels.”
