A 38-year-old Minerva-area man has died in a traffic crash in Belmont County.
Joseph W. Ferrell was killed the morning of Aug. 20 when the tractor-trailer truck he was driving experienced an equipment malfunction, causing the truck to drive off the road, overturn and burst into flames, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Ferrell was unable to get out of the vehicle, a Patrol statement said.

Ferrell lived in West Township in Columbiana County, just outside the Minerva village line.
The Patrol's St. Clairsville Post said Ferrell was driving a 1997 Kenworth W900 truck in Pultney Township south on Township Road 311 or Patterson Hill Road around 7:59 a.m.
The malfunction caused the truck to go off the road into a wooded area about seven miles from Wheeling, West Virginia.
The Patrol, which did not describe the malfunction, said it's still investigating what caused the crash.
