Hertz Starts Selling Cars On Amazon

A bold new era of online car sales is expanding as Amazon Autos adds Hertz Car Sales to its growing inventory. This comes after the recent news that Hyundai dealerships have joined Jeff Bezo’s website.

California Air Resources Board squares up for a fight against the federal government.

That’s right, you can shop for a used rental car everyone beat on during their vacation or when their ride was in the shop. It’s like a dream come true as you can peruse a vast inventory of Chevy Malibus, Nissan Rogues, and other mid vehicles offered through Hertz.

The rental agency put out a flashy press release about the new relationship, making a big deal about how it’s the first fleet dealer for Amazon Autos. What that means for shoppers is there will be more than just new and used Hyundais on the site, so if you don’t like dealing with kids learning how to steal your ride on TikTok, that’s a huge plus.

A few weeks ago, Amazon Autos proudly announced Hyundai dealerships are adding their certified per-owned inventories to the website. Since December of last year, shoppers have been able to buy or lease new Hyundais.

We wonder how much longer it will be before dealer networks or entire brands like Hyundai also join Amazon Autos.

While you can shop for cars on the site, you don’t finalize the purchase on there like you can with Carvana. Instead, you have to go to the dealership to finish up the purchase process. We assume the appeal is you can find options faster versus showing up at dealer lots and walking around, even though dealers also put their inventories online.

It’s a brave new world and it looks like Amazon is trying to do with the auto industry what it’s already done with books, movies, etc.
