Federal officials investigating claims of discrimination in New Mexico school district

GALLUP, N.M. (KRQE) – A federal agency filed an action in court against a New Mexico school district alleging that it discriminated against Native American employees and job applicants. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is investigating claims filed in 2024 against Gallup-McKinley County Schools.

According to the EEOC, administrators from the school district have refused to cooperate with the investigation. Now, the agency is looking to the courts to force those administrators into testifying.
