Tommy Fleetwood picked the perfect time to claim his first ever PGA Tour win.
Fleetwood picked up a three-shot victory at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon to officially win the Tour Championship and claim his first ever FedExCup. It ended a long dry spell for the European star, who had won eight times internationally and entered the week with 30 top five finishes in his career without a win in the United States.
The victory also earned Fleetwood a massive $10 million payday.

With $40 million up for grabs, the Tour Championship easily offered the largest purse of the season, more than double of what was offered at both the British Open and PGA Championship. The U.S. Open had a $21.5 million purse to lead the major championships, just $500,000 more than what was offered at Augusta National. Outside of this limited playoff event, The Players Championship had a $25 million purse to lead the way in the sport.
The purse was so big that the top eight finishers took home a seven-figure prize. Even Sepp Straka, who finished in last at 7-over for the week, still earned $355,000. By comparison, Andrew Novak won just $70,000 for his last-place finish at the BMW Championship.
Fleetwood, who started the day with a share of the lead, posted a 2-under 68 on Sunday to grab his win. He had eight top 10 finishes this season, including in each of the first two FedExCup Playoffs stops, and he entered the week at No. 10 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Russell Henley and Patrick Cantlay finished in second at 15-under. Scottie Scheffler, who entered the week as the clear favorite, finished four shots back.
Here’s how much Fleetwood and the rest of the field earned in Atlanta to wrap up the regular season.
