Well get your fall jacket out, temperatures are about to start dropping in Delaware.
Here's a look at this week's forecast which is calling for cooler weather.
Will it get colder this week in Delaware?
According to AccuWeather.com, temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees lower than historical averages as the jet stream drops down. Here's a look at the forecast for the First State:
New Castle County: After highs reach 81 on Aug. 25, cooler temperatures will come into the area. Lows at night this week will struggle to get over 60 degrees. The forecast this week is calling for sunny to partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-70s.
Kent County: Sunny skies will be the rule for the week, but temperatures will not top 80 degrees. Overnight lows will run in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Sussex County: Sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s are forecasted for the county. Overnight lows will run in the upper 50s to low 60s.

When does fall begin?
Fall starts with the autumnal equinox – when the Earth's sun is directly in line with the equator, resulting in equal hours of daylight and darkness. The equinox occurs at 2:19 p.m. on Sept. 22.
What does NOAA predict for Delaware's fall 2025 weather forecast?
According to NOAA's three-month outlook, Delawareans can expect a slightly warmer-than-average fall.
More specifically, the probability of above-average temperatures is 40% to 50%.
This is in line with almost all of the rest of the country. The U.S. is expected, in general, to see warmer-than-normal weather.
The First State may also see above-average precipitation, though this probability is slightly less, coming in at a 33% to 40% probability.
How does the NOAA forecast compare with the Old Farmer's Almanac forecast for Delaware?
The Old Farmer's Almanac also predicts warmer-than-average temperatures for Delaware, but differs when it comes to rainfall.
The Atlantic corridor, which includes Delaware, is expected to see warm weather early in September, followed by "some thunderstorms, then scattered showers and cooling late in the month."
October is estimated to be "cooler overall with scattered showers, brief warmth mid-month, and heavy rain followed by a cool finish."
Still, the majority of the U.S. − including the Atlantic corridor − is expected to see below-average rainfall, per the Old Farmer's Almanac.
When is peak fall foliage in Delaware?
According to Explore Fall, leaves in Delaware will remain green until about Sept. 30, when changes will start being seen in northwestern New Castle County. The low color will spread throughout the state by Oct. 10.
Peak color will start in the state around Hockessin on or around Oct. 29 and begin spreading in a southeasterly direction. By Nov. 1, New Castle County will be at peak color. The remainder of the First State will hit peak color around Nov. 10.
FALL ALLERGIES: How to prepare and avoid problems
Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Millville areas will be the last to reach peak color, around Nov. 12.
Peak color conditions will last approximately a week to 10 days.
