The New England Patriots enter the 2025 NFL season with high expectations, with a new coaching staff and promising young QB in Drake Maye. The franchise brought in veteran WR Stefon Diggs to fill the void at No. 1 WR, a role that hasn't been filled since the days of Julian Edelman and Tom Brady.

Coming off an ACL tear, Diggs isn't being drafted highly in fantasy football. But given how he's looked during training camp and preseason, plus his status as the top wideout on the roster, why isn't Diggs getting more love as a sleeper?

The Yahoo Fantasy Forecast Podcast discussed the new Patriots WR's stock in fantasy and why he's being overlooked as a solid late-round add.

Matt Harmon points out that Diggs was playing good football prior to being injured with the Houston Texans last season. He had a 70% success rate against man coverage, via Reception Perception. He's going to be playing outside for the Patriots in Josh McDaniels' offense, which is ideal for his skill set in isolation.

Scott Pianowski — resident Patriots guy — is super excited about what the Patriots can be this season. If we see a second-year leap from QB Drake Maye, it not only means Diggs could be a strong draft pick, but other receivers on the roster like DeMario Douglas and rookie Kyle Williams could also return on investment.

Over the past seven days, Diggs' ADP on Yahoo has risen to 94.3 while he comes in as the WR36 off the board. So fantasy football managers are viewing Diggs as a WR3/FLEX option in 3-WR leagues with at least 12 teams. Prior to last season with the injury, Diggs had eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards with at least six touchdowns in six straight seasons.

If the biggest hurdle for Diggs is health, as long as that holds up, he could be in store for a return-to-glory type of fantasy season.
