(WJW) — Drivers in Northeast Ohio can expect multiple OVI sobriety checkpoints this week, according to law enforcement officials.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Monday that troopers will operate a checkpoint this upcoming weekend in Medina and Ashtabula. The locations will be announced the morning of the operation.
Separately, the Brook Park Police Department said it also plans to conduct an OVI checkpoint in the city sometime this week. The exact site will be announced on the day of the checkpoint.

“Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired,” Brook Park police said in a release.
The patrol and local departments regularly announce checkpoints as part of ongoing efforts to reduce alcohol- and drug-related crashes.
