Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry has made key leadership appointments to advance his vision for roads, energy and natural resources in the state, including one cabinet position.
Landry continued his transformation of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development by naming Julia Fisher-Cormier to lead the agency's new Office of Transportation, while Eric Dauphine will lead the department's Office of Project Delivery.
The governor has also named Dustin Davidson as his new secretary of Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources, a cabinet position. Davidson will replace Tyler Gray, who is returning to private practice after overseeing a Landry's vision of the agency's revamp.
"Louisiana is at a turning point, and these leaders will help us build a stronger future for our state," Landry said in a statement. "I have full confidence in this team to deliver for the people of Louisiana. From strengthening our infrastructure to securing our energy future, this leadership will help us grow our economy, create jobs and protect our way of life.”
Landry previously hired Fisher-Cormier as commissioner of the Office of Multimodal Commerce within the transportation department that oversaw the state's port system, among other duties.
The new Office of Transportation was created by the Legislature at Landry's behest as a platform to accelerate road and infrastructure projects from a pace that has frustrated both Landry and lawmakers. It is complemented by the Office of Project Delivery.
Landry has also transformed the Department of Engergy and Nature Resources through Gray's leadership in what the governor describes as modernizing the agency from permitting and compliance to enforcement.
Dadvison has been serving as deputy secretary of the agency.
