Claire’s: Brass Mill Center & Commons, Waterbury
Claire’s: Crystal Mall, Waterford
Icing: The Shoppes At Buckland Hills, Manchester

Mall-based retailer Claire’s files for bankruptcy again
Earlier this month, Claire’s filed for bankruptcy. Ames Watson- a private equity firm- bought Claires Holding LLC’s North American business for $104 million last week.
“This decision is difficult, but a necessary one,” Claire’s CEO Chris Cramer said in a statement at the time. “Increased competition, consumer spending trends and the ongoing shift away from brick-and-mortar retail, in combination with our current debt obligations and macroeconomic factors, necessitate this course of action for Claire’s and its stakeholders.”
