The Internet Is Dragging This Confused MAGA Voter Who Now Claims She "Didn’t Vote For All Of This"

Benjamin Franklin once wrote that nothing in this world can be certain except for death and taxes, but I'd argue there's one more: Trump supporters not realizing what they voted for.

Welcome back to today's rendition of "Who's suffering the consequences of their vote today?" — aka the r/LeopardsAteMyFace subreddit, where MAGA regret stories live rent-free. Today's case study: We'll call her L. L voted for Trump, but now "completely regrets" it, as she put it.

She wrote, "I completely regret my vote for Trump. He is playing games with our lives. What happened to less government? Why are the rich getting any tax breaks and we are paying more? Why are the companies involved in lawsuits against regular people being dropped? Why are we sidestepping the Constitution? I didn't vote for all of this."

Everyone's like ummmmm... "Yes you did vote for this." Do you remember what he campaigned on?

Let's run it back for L: When Trump ran for president last year, he promised to increase the power of the presidency over independent agencies, concentrating power directly in his hands. He campaigned on promises like tax cuts for “workers” and “no tax on tips,” but in reality, his plan proposed cuts for the wealthiest 5 percent of Americans while raising taxes on everyone else.

His pledge to slash regulations and control independent agencies, like the Federal Trade Commission, meant bringing consumer protection laws under his control. And he's done exactly that — under Trump, the consumer bureau has dropped at least 22 cases, putting as much as $3 billion in relief for consumers at risk.

Soooooo...yeah, girl. You kinda did vote for this.

Of course, the internet had a lot more to say in the comments:

"'I didn't vote for Trump to do the things he said he was going to do, consistently and repeatedly, throughout his campaign.'"

"It's almost like if you had paid attention instead of getting your news from Facebook memes, you would've known this is exactly what you voted for."

"Why is he doing all the things the liberals told me he would be doing before I voted for him??!!!?!!"

And lastly, "My favorite brand of MAGA buyer's remorse is when they list off a bunch of things Trump literally said he would do and then claim they didn't vote for that. It's not even 'we tried to warn you' — THE GUY YOU VOTED FOR TOLD YOU THIS IS WHAT HE WOULD DO...He told you he was going to cut taxes for the rich, plus he's a fucking Republican. That is literally the only thing they know how to do. It happens every time there is a GOP President. He told you he was going to do tariffs — that means you pay more because that's how taxes work."

"He told you he was going to gut regulations and shut down all the government alphabet soup agencies that were leading those lawsuits...So yes, you did vote for this. Literally all of it. Donald Trump told you exactly what he was going to do, and you said, 'Yes, that's what I want,' when you voted for him. Don't try to play coy now."
