
FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered all state flags be lowered to half-staff until Sept. 1 in honor of the victims of the Aug. 26 shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.
The order comes in compliance with a proclamation issued by President Trump on Wednesday, “as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence.”
Beshear echoed his response to Wednesday’s shooting in the order, saying American children should be safe and feel safe in their schools, and that Kentucky stands with Minneapolis and all the families affected.

In addition to all state buildings having their flags lowered, every U.S. embassy, legation, consular office, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
On Wednesday, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington said it stands in prayerful solidarity wth the affected families and community.
