Multiple people have been shot at a business in Montana, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Friday, Aug. 1, on X.

The Granite County Sheriff's Office also confirmed on Facebook that there was an “active shooter” in Anaconda Deer Lodge, in Anaconda. “The shooter is said to be wearing a tye-dyed shirt, blue jeans and an orange bandana,” the post read.

Another post stated: “Suspect house in Anaconda was cleared by SWAT, suspect still at large. Avoid the Anaconda area.”

According to NBC Montana, the city of Anaconda, which has a population of less than 10,000, is on lockdown.

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte wrote on Facebook that he's "closely monitoring the situation involving an active shooter in Anaconda."

"There is a heavy law enforcement presence west of Anaconda near Stumptown Road and Anderson Ranch Loop Road," the Montana Highway Patrol wrote on Facebook. "Authorities are searching for a suspect believed to be armed. Please avoid the area."
