ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) — A special event was held for Connecticut veterans in Rocky Hill on Monday night.
The Veterans Farmers’ Market showcased fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, eggs, jams and so much more — all of which were grown or made by state veterans.

Monday’s event was part of an initiative to support local vets statewide and to strengthen the network between businesses.
“They served our great state and nation, both in peace and war, and now they continue the mission,” Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Ron Welch said. “The mission is to serve and grow fresh produce, dairy, and livestock, and that’s great food, fresh product for our local communities and the residents of the state of Connecticut.”
There were also veteran-owned food trucks on site, as well as a performance by Ripchord, the 102nd Army Band of the Connecticut National Guard.
