Three people have been arrested and are facing charges in connection to a May shooting at a Clarksville, Indiana, apartment complex that hospitalized four teens and young adults, according to an Aug. 5 news release from the Clarksville Police Department.

Officials said Luke Elliott, 20; Khyron Murphy-Gant, 21; and Maleea Roland, 20, are facing several charges in connection to a May 31 shooting at The Bend Apartments, a large apartment complex in Clarksville that opened in 2023.

Elliott and Murphy-Gant are facing charges of aggravated battery, pointing a firearm and four counts of criminal recklessness. Murphy-Gant is also charged with intimidation and battery resulting in serious bodily injury while Roland is charged with maintaining a common nuisance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Clarksville Police Chief Nathan Wells previously said police responded to calls of a shooting during a party at the apartment complex within two minutes of receiving the initial reports at around 12:22 a.m. Four people between the ages of 15 and 20 were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries and police recovered two guns at the "massive" crime scene.

"It's a miracle that we don't have fatalities," Wells said at the time. "It's hard to find much silver lining in a situation like this, but the fact that we're not showing pictures of young people who didn't make it is a miracle."

The shootout occurred inside the apartment unit and some of the bullets fired reportedly entered a vacant apartment across the hall, and at least one bullet exited through a rear sliding glass door. No one outside the unit was injured.

There were about 50 people at the apartment at the time of the shooting and the crowd size fluctuated throughout the night, with around 100 people present at one point in time. A young woman working at the apartment complex lived at the unit where the shooting occurred, Wells said, adding he "would have a hard time imagining" she wouldn't face charges.
