TJX CEO announces plan to open several new stores
The newest batch of openings come after Ernie Herrman, CEO of T.J. Maxx's parent company TJX, announced in May 2024 a goal of opening at least 1,300 additional locations globally across the TJX portfolio of stores.
TJX, which also oversees Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sierra, and HomeSense stores, touts itself as an "off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions."
According to its website, the company was founded in 1976 and operates stores in nine countries across three continents. The company said in its first quarter earnings report that it owned and operated 1,338 T.J. Maxx locations.
