One of BMW’s rarest and most coveted modern classics, the 2003 BMW Alpina Roadster V8, is now up for auction on Bring a Trailer. This Titanium Silver example shows just 26,000 miles and includes a color-matched hardtop, extensive maintenance history, and the unmistakable design cues of Henrik Fisker’s Z8-inspired vision.
Produced exclusively for the 2003 model year after the conclusion of standard Z8 production, the Alpina Roadster V8 was a softer, more grand touring-focused variant of BMW’s halo car. Only 555 were made globally, with just 450 imported to North America, making this a particularly rare find. Offered on dealer consignment, this Arizona-titled car has accrued just 1,000 miles under current ownership.
Under the hood lies Alpina’s tuned version of the M62 4.8-liter V8, factory-rated at 375 horsepower and 396 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a five-speed Switch-Tronic automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The car received extensive service in early 2025, including a new fuel pump, battery, intake silencer, spark plugs, DME module, and other fuel system components.
The exterior features a sleek Titanium Silver Metallic finish, black soft top, and color-matched removable hardtop. It rides on refinished 20-inch Ronal wheels wrapped in fresh Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Braking is managed by four-wheel discs with Dynamic Brake Control, and the suspension has been softened from the standard Z8 to better suit touring.
Inside, black Nappa leather covers the heated power seats, dash, and interior panels. Amenities include a Harman Kardon sound system, navigation, air conditioning, cruise control, and a six-disc CD changer.
