Virginia Giuffre once called convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell “worse” than Jeffrey Epstein.
Three months after her death by suicide, Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, and his wife, Amanda, are weighing in on the rumors that Maxwell, 63, could be granted clemency or a pardon by the Trump administration.
“Survivors are saying no,” Amanda told Gayle King in a Wednesday, August 6, interview on CBS Mornings. “No to leniency, no to a pardon.”
Earlier this year, House Oversight Chair James Comer subpoenaed the disgraced former socialite for a deposition that was originally scheduled for August 11. In exchange for her potential testimony, Maxwell asked for immunity. She also requested that the deposition be pushed until after September 29, when the Supreme Court is expected to review her conviction appeal.
“Of course, in the alternative, if Ms. Maxwell were to receive clemency, she would be willing — and eager — to testify openly and honestly, in public, before Congress in Washington, D.C.,” a letter written by her legal team read, per MSNBC. “She welcomes the opportunity to share the truth and to dispel the many misconceptions and misstatements that have plagued this case from the beginning.”
Maxwell has since been transferred to a minimum security prison in Texas called Camp Bryan – a move that some have speculated is a huge improvement from her prior facility in Tallahassee, Florida.
“I think it makes you question if there are any backdoor deals going on,” Sky suggested during his interview with King.
“For her to be moved to a minimum-security prison…,” he continued. “It’s highly convenient that after she had these conversations with various members of the [Trump] administration that there’s now being some sort of preferential treatment going on.”
As the National Enquirer previously reported, Epstein accuser Haley Robson also said that she was “extremely upset” and “disgusted” by the ongoing situation.
“Why would anyone give someone like her [Ghislaine] – who is a monster and a liar – a time of day to explain anything?” she told the BBC in an interview published on Monday, August 4.
Maxwell was sentenced to spend 20 years behind bars for child sex trafficking related charges in June 2022 – roughly three years after Epstein’s death.
“Today’s sentence holds Ghislaine Maxwell accountable for perpetrating heinous crimes against children,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said at the time. “This sentence sends a strong message that no one is above the law and it is never too late for justice.”
She maintained her innocence throughout the case.
