Georgia man wanted on child molestation charges in Michigan

STEPHENS COUNTY, GA (WSPA) – The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office said one man was arrested in connection to child molestation charges from Michigan.

Deputies said they were contacted by Michigan State Police regarding allegations of child molestation that occurred in Stephens County between the years 2016 and 2017. The suspect of the crime also allegedly resided in Stephens County.

Authorities identified the suspect as 67-year-old Doyle McLaughlin of Toccoa. Following an interview with McLaughlin, the sheriff’s office stated that there was probable cause to issue a warrant for McLaughlin’s arrest.

On Tuesday August 5, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office located Mclaughlin and arrested him without incident.

McLaughlin was transferred to the Stephens County Jail, where he remains with a $50,000 bond.
