A rare 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A Coupe, finished in its original high-impact Go Mango Orange and powered by a matching-numbers 340 Six-Pack V8, is turning heads ahead of its appearance at the Premier Auction Group’s summer sale in Florida.

The boldly styled muscle car, one of only 2,399 T/A models produced in 1970, has already drawn a high bid of $55,000 and is expected to climb as collectors take note of its documented rarity and condition. What sets this example apart isn’t just the color or equipment—but the unique combination of features that makes it a one-of-one car, according to a March 2025 Dave Wise Elite Validation Report.
Only 197 Challenger T/As were built with the 4-speed manual transmission and iconic Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, and this car takes that configuration a step further with a white interior, white vinyl roof, and a striking Go Mango exterior with factory blacked-out T/A graphics. The result is a color and option combination that makes this car the only known example of its kind.

Additional original features include the fiberglass scooped hood with hood pins, side-exit exhaust, ducktail rear spoiler, Rallye wheels, and a preserved broadcast sheet that confirms its factory specifications and matching drivetrain components.

Experts say the Challenger T/A’s connection to Trans Am racing, along with its limited production and aggressive styling, make it one of the most desirable Mopars of the era. But this particular car, with its verified one-of-one status and period-correct presentation, stands in a category of its own.

Bidding remains open ahead of its scheduled sale, and muscle car enthusiasts are watching closely to see how high this rare Dodge will climb. See it here.
