Hundreds of members of Georgia's workforce will need to find new jobs.

In the span of two days, more than 200 employees across three different companies are being let go, according to WARN Notices received by the USA Today Network.

Community Development Institute Head Start

A letter attached to the July 30 WARN Notice said Community Development Institute Head Start has been the short-term interim operator of the Savannah River Head Start program. This allowed for services to Head Start children and families at a time when the local recipient could no longer operate the program. During this interim period, a process was put in place by the Office of Head Start to identify a replacement recipient which has now been found.

This will lead to 77 layoffs effective Sept. 30 or within 14 days beginning on Oct. 1 when the new administration starts. These layoffs are spread out across 11 worksites with the most being 15 layoffs at Emanuel Head Start in Swainesboro and 13 at Burke Head Start in Waynesboro.

These actions are expected to be permanent, and the location associated with the program will no longer be operated by CDI HS.

Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation

A letter attached to the July 30 WARN Notice said Yamaha Motor Manufacturing is taking "certain job actions that will impact the employment of certain YMMC employees" who currently work at Newnan operations. This is due to a change in ownership and control of two distribution centers starting around Oct. 4.

Around 160 employees will be permanently fired by the time ownership is switched over.

Americold Logistics

The July 31 WARN Notice didn't have much details. Only that 12 employees will be impacted at Americold Logistics in Atlanta.
