When the previous-generation Dodge Charger and Challenger were sent off to pasture, there was a natural hesitancy from Mopar fanatics. The automaker had told the world all about its commitment to electrification, launching the all-electric Charger Daytona as its top-line muscle car. And while the battery-powered brute remains the top dog, Dodge is finally ready to share details about its gas-powered alternatives.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack lineup.

Like the Charger Daytona on which it is based, the ICE version utilizes the STLA Large multi-energy platform, and is broken in R/T and Scat Pack trims. Dodge will offer the car in both two- and four-door configurations, but the latter will be a late addition. In place of the EV powertrain, the Charger will feature two variants of the twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline-six shared with Ram and Jeep; Dodge has rebranded the engine as the Sixpack, harking back to the carb setups of yesteryear.

The Standard Output Sixpack engine will come in Charger R/T model, and provide customers with 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. Step up to a Scat Pack model with the High Output Sixpack and those figures jump to 550 hp and 531 lb-ft. Every Charger will also now come equipped with all-wheel-drive as standard, allowing drivers to make the most out of that shove. Dodge says the Scat Pack is capable of ripping off a 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.9 seconds, as well as a ¼-mile time of just 12.2 seconds. The Scat can continue on to speeds of 177 mph, which beats out the Charger Daytona’s 137-mph top speed. The R/T isn’t as potent, with a v-max of ‘just’ 168 mph. A dual-mode active exhaust brings some extra throat to the Hurricane’s song, which now sounds BMW-esque.

There’s no need to panic about the all-wheel-drive, however. Behind the engine sits a brand-new 880RE TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, which features a multi-disc wet clutch system. This means that drivers can disengage the front axle and send 100% of the power to the rear wheels at any given time. (The car will also automatically disconnect the front axle when cruising to help improve efficiency, which is a nice touch.) Dodge is leaning into this dual-purpose attitude by also including Line Lock in all inline-six-powered models, allowing for easy burnouts in the pit box (and definitely not in an intersection near you, of course). A mechanical limited-slip differential also comes installed in every Charger.

Dodge says the new Charger will easily out-handle the outgoing units, largely in part to the upgraded multi-link front and four-link rear suspension setups. The automaker claims a 25% improvement in steady-state limit handling balance and a 15% bump in lateral response time from the steering.

Part of that also likely comes as a result of the insane track width (68.4 in) on these cars: whether in EV or ICE form, the Charger is quite literally the widest car on sale today, measuring in at 79.8 inches without mirrors. Just two more tenths and the car would require the same marker lights you see on F-150 Raptors and Ram 1500 TRXs. The 206.6-inch length and 121-inch wheelbase are also rather truck-ish, as is the mass; all-wheel drive, turbochargers, and a giant footprint all contribute to a curb weight of 4816 pounds, over 200 lbs heavier than the old Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody. Just over 55% of that weight sits on the front axle.

Scat Pack models also benefit from 20x10-inch wheels, which come wrapped in 275/40/20 Goodyear all-season tires; a set of 20x11-inch wheels are optional, and come with larger 305/35/20 rubber. Behind the wheels sit a set of six-piston front calipers from Brembo that clamp down on 15 -inch rotors, while the rear calipers get 14.1-inchers. There are eight exterior hues to choose from: Green Machine, After Dark, Bludicrous, Diamond Black, Peel Out, Redeye, Triple Nickel and White Knuckle.

The interior of the 2026 Charger is shared between Daytona and Sixpack models. That means you’ll find a 10.25-in digital cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment setup running Uconnect 5 at the center. Customers can upgrade to a larger digital cluster if they so choose, but either setup supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.Scat Pack customers can also spec a high back seat, which can be had in Black Nappa or Demonic Red Nappa leather for a little extra scratch. Scat Packs will also receive wheel-mounted shift paddles, whereas the R/T is left with the Pistol Grip shifter in the center. A Carbon and Suede package brings a bit of Hellcat vibe to the interior.

Order books for the two-door variant of the 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack will open on August 13. Dodge says the car will start at $56,990 including destination, and will arrive at dealers during the second half of this year. The four-door Scat Pack will cost $2000 more when order books open during the first half of 2026; the Charger R/T won’t be available until then, either, arriving with a base price of $51,990 including destination. You can expect more information about the R/T next year.

Let us know below if you think this offering has what it takes to revive the Brotherhood of Muscle... or if you're still waiting and praying for a Hemi beneath the Charger's massive hood.
