Heat and humidity are expected to grip New Jersey for the next three days, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for much of the state from 11 a.m. July 28 through 8 p.m. July 30.
Temperatures are forecast to climb into the 90s across the region, but it will feel closer to 100 degrees or higher due to high humidity levels, according to the NWS. Heat index values could reach as high as 105 in some areas.

The advisory covers a wide swath of New Jersey, including Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, western Monmouth, Morris, Ocean (excluding immediate coastal areas), eastern Passaic, Somerset and Union counties.
Forecasters are urging New Jersey residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours, and limit sun exposure.
Nighttime relief will be minimal, with overnight lows only dipping into the 70s.

Tuesday is expected to bring a near carbon copy of Monday’s conditions, with mostly sunny skies and heat indices again topping 100 degrees.
Authorities recommend wearing lightweight clothing, using fans or air conditioning when possible and never leaving children or pets unattended in vehicles.
