Read the full story on Modern Car Collector

Everyone loves a supercar, from dealers, to collectors, and to manufacturers themselves. But what actually makes up a supercar? Is it the exceptional speed, advanced engineering, or the exclusive design? Perhaps the supercar is in the eye of the beholder. You simply just know them when you see them.
It just so happens that a treasure trove of supercars are about to go up for sale at the Pebble Beach Auctions. Gooding Christie’s has a killer lineup at their upcoming sale in Pebble Beach on August 15th and 16th. You can comb through the catalogue or even register to bidif you’re ready to take one home. Here are some of our favorite supercars available:

Starting off strong with some unforgettable 90s beauties; namely, the 1990 Ferrari F40, which has crazy gorgeous Scaglietti coachwork, a 2,936 CC DOHC V-8 engine and is the 53rd of only 213 US-specification F40s. The F40 was one of the first cars to be built with Kevlar, carbon fiber, and Nomex, which previously hadn’t been available beyond racecars. As with many supercars in this auction, it showed just 1,253 miles at the time of cataloguing. And of course, it comes with all the requisite accessories: the Ferrari Classiche Red book, a Massini Report, its books, and tools. Simply put, it’s a true thoroughbred supercar that will surely turn heads and paddles.

The 1990 Porsche 911 Classic Turbo Reimagined by Singer is among the first Classic Turbo services to be offered at auction. Its design blends elements from the type-964 chassis and modern design aesthetics. Nestled inside the car lies the powerhouse combo of a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six and an electronic fuel injection. As an added bonus, the “Cielo Mio” commission was completed in 2024 and guarantees that the lucky buyer can skip the queue for Singer’s latest restoration services.

There are more gorgeous Porsches where that came from, even vintage paint-to-sample ones. (Music to our ears!) The 1996 Porsche 993 GT2 Clubsportis certainly something to behold due to its magnetizing iconic Porsche Blutorange, a color unique to this 993 GT2. As one of only 194 road legal GT2s, one of only 33 Clubsport examples, and boasting only 34,175 miles from delivery and a flat six, it's a stunner.

Somehow, there’s more where that came from with the 1989 Porsche 930 S Targa. It’s also finished in the highly desirable combo of paint-to-sample Blutorange over black leather. It’s one of three ROW 930 Targa models built in 1989 and has NEVER been shown or offered to the public. And most excitingly, it has 3,286 miles since original delivery. Our hearts are beating faster by the minute.

Other standouts include the 1990 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition, a legendary period livery in time-capsule condition with a 5,167 CC DOHC V-12 engine—a guaranteed icon anywhere it goes. If you prefer American marques, The 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition shows just 3.9 miles at the time of cataloging, has factory interior plastic wrap intact, and possesses the most desirable paint scheme and supercharged V-8 engine. We hope you like that new car smell. If English cars are more your speed, the 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante ‘X-pack’ offers an exceptionally rare Vantage Volante in the more coveted specification– the X-pack. It showed just 1,100 miles when catalogued, and it’s just begging for a few more.

If we have piqued your interest but not your bank accounts, you won’t want to miss these more modern, hard-to-find supercars under $500k: iconic models such as the 2022 Ferrari F8 Spider, the 2023 Lamborghini Huracan STO and the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. All sport ridiculously low mileage and are primed for many days of fun to be had.
Supercar lovers, your time is now! Embrace the experience and check out the Gooding Christie’s catalogue to get started.
