Watching police in Pueblo, Colorado busting some kids doing stupid stunts on their motorcycles is incredibly satisfying. While some would say they’re just being harmless, or that it’s better the teenagers are on bikes popping wheelies than playing around on TikTok, we’ve also seen riders lose control of their motorcycles doing this sort of thing, plowing into a car and killing innocent bystanders.
Watch a lane-splitting motorcyclist get busted by cops.
It's for that reason alone that it’s great to see these kids get busted. But the cops, who are rolling around in an unmarked Ford F-150, realize they can only grab one of the three riders. Before they do that, they get plenty of dashcam footage of the three acting like idiots.
They say there’s no honor among thieves and that certainly played out here. When the cops jump out and grab the rider sitting in the back, having singled him out before as the least proficient and thus the easiest to get, the guy’s buddies peace out in no time.
In fact, the lead guy rides off the moment he spots the cops, before the one guy is even grabbed. He had his head on a swivel, probably realizing what they were doing could get them in trouble.
Not going after that guy was absolutely the right call. One would say that kid has situational awareness.
The other rider, the one who was only half wearing his T-shirt (seriously, only one arm is through a sleeve for some weird reason) pauses momentarily when he sees his buddy is getting arrested. Then he struggles to get his motorcycle into gear before he takes off as well.
After the cops collar the one rider, the kid gets sassy and starts congratulating them on a job well done. While he doesn’t appreciate what the officers did, plenty of motorists stop and thank the police, obviously because they were frustrated by the teenage riders’ antics on the road.
Our little scofflaw finally melts down when he realizes his bike is getting impounded for six months. Suddenly Mr. Tough Guy realizes there are real consequences for his dumb behavior.
