
Yes, there are a lot more police officers around Ohio State University at the moment. No, there is nothing to be concerned about.
There is an increased police presence on campus Aug. 14 as OSU police officers are prepping for the beginning of the school year and start of the football season, according to an Instagram post by the department.
Their preparations include testing road barriers and other work related to traffic patterns, a university spokesperson said.
Ohio State students will begin moving back to campus on Aug. 20 and fall semester classes resume on Aug. 26.
The Buckeyes will take on the Texas Longhorns at Ohio Stadium's home opener on Aug. 30. Kickoff is at noon.
