CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Connecticut’s student loan reimbursement program will reopen for applications Friday.

CT student loan reimbursement program reopens, expands eligibility

The program will include changes enacted during this years legislative session, according to the state office of higher education. A significant expansion in eligibility requirements is included, making it so that more people can access loan debt relief than ever before.

“This particular program — which is a great way to help out your graduates and even incoming folks so that you know that the state of Connecticut is behind you, and that we understand what the situation is,” Tim Larson, the executive director of the Connecticut Office of Higher Education, said. “We feel confident that this will be a really big success.”

The program provides up to $5,000 a year and $20,000 over four years to eligible applicants who meet service and income requirements.
