The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office filed the charges in connection with a shooting last year that left 29-year-old William C. Wright dead. The shooting happened June 2, 2024, in the area of East Ninth Street and Van Brunt Boulevard.
The Kansas City Police Department investigated the case.
After the jury returned the verdict Thursday, the judge ordered that Doan be discharged and for his bond to be released.
