A teenager claimed that a Buffalo Wild Wings employee harassed her in the bathroom of the Owatonna, Minnesota restaurant.

According to CBS News, 18-year-old Gerika Mudra said the incident happened in April. She expressed that she immediately felt uncomfortable upon entering the establishment, and everything escalated inside the women's restroom when a female server allegedly banged on a stall door, shouting at Gerika and accusing her of being a man.

In a pre-recorded interview with her attorneys, Gerika said, "She came in yelling, 'This is a women's bathroom, the man has to get out."

Gerika added, "I was just like, 'I am a girl,' and she was like, 'You need to get out now.' So, I showed her like, I am a girl, and she just walked out and didn't even apologize or anything."
To desperately end the harassment, Gerika showed that she has breasts to the server through her clothes. "After that I don't like going in public bathrooms. I just, like, hold it in," Gerika said.
CBS News reported that with the help of Gender Justice, a nonprofit firm, Gerika filed a discrimination complaint with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights against Buffalo Wild Wings.
Gerika is represented by Sara Jane Baldwin, who shared that they’re asking for accountability, an apology, and a policy change. "See them commit to doing better, commit to creating a culture and workplace where people aren't subject to this harassment and discrimination, she said in the video shared via CBS News.

Minnesota laws prohibit discrimination in public services, but according to advocates, incidents like Gerika's are becoming more frequent.
News of the incident has gone viral, and people are rightfully upset by what this means for the rights and privacy of people.
"We told y'all that transphobia hurts ALL WOMEN, not just trans women," one person wrote.
"The fact showing breasts was enough is evidence to me that the part of society that advocates for checks like this does not know a substantial part of Trans people have the same bodily characteristics as their c!5 counterparts, they're convinced a large part is the manish-," another X user said.
Another person wrote, "I've said it a million times and will continue to say it: there is no way to 'prove' you are cis that does not amount to sexual assault."

"'We're protecting women and girls' by sexually assaulting teenage girls, forcing them to show their intimate areas to transphobic adults whenever they need to have a piss...," another person added.
Finally, this X user wrote, "But I thought terfs told us we were just overreacting when we said this bathroom policing would inevitably lead to women being harassed because they don't conform to a feminine image norm? Fuck terfs. I feel safer in a bathroom with a trans person than a terf."
