Located in Cordele, Georgia, there are fields of the iconic summer fruit. From here, watermelons are shipped across Georgia and beyond, feeding a region’s appetite for this ultimate warm-weather treat.

"'Watermelon Capital of the World, and if you ever taste our home-grown melons, you’ll understand why!" the city's website wrote. "Other major crops grown in the area are cotton, peanuts and pecans."
