
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Classes were canceled at a local school after a fire Monday morning.
Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools said there was a “small fire” just after 10 a.m. at Arrowhead Middle School.

A district spokesman said a stack of wooden tables caught fire in a mechanical room near the middle school’s cafeteria.
The district said staff members were able to contain the fire, and all students and staff members were safely evacuated from the building. Classes were canceled for the rest of the day.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department was called and is investigating the cause.
