
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Janet Mann has officially been sworn in as the secretary of the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
Mann will take the role after being sworn in Monday at the DHS headquarters, with the oath being administered by Arkansas Supreme Court Associate Justice Cody Hiland.

Mann has been serving as the secretary designate since former Secretary Kristi Putnam left the position in July. She was named by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders a month prior.
“It is a true honor to lead this agency, and I look forward to continuing to uphold DHS’ mission of protecting the vulnerable, fostering independence, and promoting better health,” Mann said. “I am grateful to Gov. Sanders for the trust she has placed in me, and I’m excited to work with our amazing teams to best serve beneficiaries all across this state.”
Mann will continue to serve as State Medical Director while searching for a replacement.

Mann received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Alabama. She has worked in the private and public sector for multiple states and clients with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, according to state officials.
