When firefighters arrived, they immediately began their “offensive fire attack,” using hose lines inside the home. However, while putting out the flames, crews noticed holes in the floor and a large amount of fire coming from a crawl space, leading them to evacuate and put out the fire from outside.
The fire was eventually brought under control by about 4:45 a.m.
No injuries were reported, and according to KCFD, Dangerous Buildings was called to the scene to evaluate the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
