Back-to-school season is in full swing, and for students at three Oklahoma City schools, they're attending classes at one of the top 500 schools in the nation, according to a new list.
U.S. News & World Report compiled data on more than 24,000 public high schools throughout the nation and ranked nearly 18,000. These schools were ranked on their performance on state assessments, college preparation, graduation rates and more.
Of the top 10 schools in Oklahoma, the majority are in and around the capital city.

What is the best high school in Oklahoma?
In the U.S. News ranking, Classen High School of Advanced Studies ranked the highest in Oklahoma.
The school ranked well due to its high marks in Advanced Placement scores as well as availability, 99% graduation rate, and 68% reading proficiency, among other categories.

The school ranked high in several categories, including college readiness (756th in the nation), state assessment proficiency (479th), and state assessment performance (207).
